Nereyda "Nelly" Alfonso, APRN is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She was born in Miami and has been a loyal member to our community. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Science of Nursing from West Coast University in 2019. She started her career in the middle of COVID as a labor and delivery nurse in Hialeah Hospital and later moved on to take on a bigger challenge; she went to Jackson Memorial Hospital where she has since managed low-risk and high-risk obstetrical patients as an L&D nurse, and found passion and joy in women's health. She has dedicated her entire nursing career to making a positive impact for mothers and their babies during such a vulnerable and special moment of their lives. In love with her career and her patients, she decided to advance her career and pursued a higher education; she obtained her Master's of Science in Nursing from West Coast University. Her goal: provide compassionate, comprehensive care to mothers at every stage of pregnancy, fostering a safe environment while ensuring they receive the support and care they need.
At South Florida Perinatal Medicine, Nereyda has accomplished her goals working collaboratively alongside her fellow APRN and perinatologists. With the team, she has been dedicated to ensure expecting mothers are fully informed about potential pregnancy complications while remaining supported, empowered, and confident through ongoing education.
